Our perspective is so important. If it is off-kilter, even just a little, all our assumptions and feelings that stem from that perspective are literally based on an illusion. It’s a Perception Deception.
As the saying goes, we must be careful not to lose sight of the forest for the trees.
Our view of those that are closest to us on our life journey is so up close and personal that we can see things others may not see from a distance. Sometimes this vantage point is like using a microscope. While it is a privilege to see beneath the surface, it also comes with great responsibility.
The picture isn’t always pretty beneath the surface where ugliness likes to hide. It is in these places that weeds can take root and grow, creating a wall between us and those we love.
Let us not forget to step back occasionally and view our loved ones from a distance so that we may see the entire picture and not just a microscopic viewpoint. When we are diligent to do this, it gives us the opportunity to remove the weeds that grow tall and alter our view.
If we forget to adjust our focus often our picture will be blurred and distorted, and we will be unable to behold the true beauty of those that surround us.
